Here at By the Wye we take pride in going that extra mile in order to offer the very best experience for our guests. That means being thoughtful; sourcing locally, hand-picking the highest quality products and working with some amazing, like-minded businesses. Meet the makers – some of the people behind-the-scenes whose love and passion makes a huge difference to the By the Wye adventure:
Black Mountain Roast
A small coffee company, located in the foothills of the Black Mountains in Wales.
‘We love coffee and believe fresh is best. To achieve this we only roast small batches in our magical barn, using cutting-edge technology with good old fashioned skills. Roasting is part science and part art – in other words ‘Alchemy’. At Black Mountain Roast we source our beans from around the world, from small farms and co-operatives that excel at what they do. Many of these are not Fairtrade-registered, but be assured that all our beans are traded fairly and grown using traditional and sustainable methods’.
Gibbons Butchers
CJ Gibbons is a traditional, family-run butcher’s shop, offering high quality, locally-sourced meat, prepared using traditional butchery methods. This is one of the butchers that we use for our food hampers.
‘For the last 35 years our goal has been to provide the best quality local meats at outstanding value. Wherever possible, we source our products from local farms and producers – helping the environment by reducing food miles whilst supporting the local economy’.
Coco Pzazz
In the rolling hills of Mid-Wales, Coco Pzazz is a hive of activity.
‘Our busy team scour the globe looking for great chocolate, exciting tastes and fabulous artwork. We combine these to bring you the Coco Pzazz range of hand finished and exquisitely flavoured chocolate buttons and bars – that’s what makes us Intrepid Chocolateers’. We include chocolate from Coco Pzazz in our welcome hampers and usually ‘taste-test’ some of them on each changeover day!
